What it is
OpenAI describes a dot as an always-on agent that keeps working between conversations. It runs on GPT-6 Astra and has its own cloud computer and browser. The company says dots can connect to over 4,000 apps through its plugin ecosystem.
Access
The first dot is included on Pro and Business Premium. Pro rollout excludes the European Economic Area, Switzerland, and the UK. Business Premium is available across supported ChatGPT regions. Enterprise is a beta that stays off until a workspace admin enables it. You cannot create a dot on mobile, and dots are not supported on mobile web.
Usage
OpenAI says conversations with the dot do not count toward ChatGPT usage limits. Codex and ChatGPT Work tasks the dot starts or manages count toward those limits. The Help Center says that, for the next month, dots usage will not count toward eligible plan allowances, and that OpenAI will share usage terms after that.
