Command A+
Command A+ is the newest model from Cohere, a Canadian lab that sells mostly to businesses. Cohere released it on 20 May 2026 (Cohere docs). It is Cohere's first Mixture of Experts model, which means only part of the model runs for each token, a token being a chunk of text.

Key facts
| Field | Command A+ |
|---|---|
| Size | 218 billion parameters, 25 billion active |
| Inputs | Text and images |
| Output | Text |
| Languages | 48, including all official EU languages |
| License | Apache 2.0, on Hugging Face |
| Hardware to run it | 1 Nvidia B200, or 2 H100s, at W4A4 |
Apache 2.0 is a permissive open-source license, so the weights can be downloaded and used commercially. W4A4 means the model's weights and activations are stored in 4 bits each, which shrinks it to fit fewer chips.
What is not on this page
Cohere's model card does not list a price. Third-party sites quote one; this page waits for Cohere's own pricing page. The card links Cohere's EU AI Act training-data summary; see AI regulation.
