Hyperion

Hyperion is Meta's largest AI training cluster, a training cluster being the group of chips that teaches a model. It sits at Meta's data center in Richland Parish, Louisiana. On 13 July 2026 Meta raised the site to 5 GW of compute capacity, the largest in its fleet, and an investment of more than $50 billion (Meta, 13 Jul 2026).

A gigawatt (GW) is a billion watts, about the output of one large power plant; a megawatt (MW) is a thousandth of that. Data centers are sized by the power they can draw.

Power

Meta says its agreement with Entergy, the local utility, funds seven new natural gas plants, three grid-scale batteries, nuclear uprates (upgrades that let an existing reactor produce more), and other purchased power. Meta also commits to help fund up to 2.5 GW of clean and renewable energy and says it will match all of the site's power use with clean energy. Meta puts the customer savings at about $2 billion, on top of $650 million announced earlier. These are Meta's figures.

What is not public

Meta has not named the chips or the chip count for Hyperion in the post cited here.

Meta's other big cluster is Prometheus in Ohio.
